Innovation Analyst - Raw Materials [Netherlands]


 

About the job

Fashion for Good is seeking an Analyst who will be responsible for scouting and evaluating new and existing raw material innovations and supporting the Innovation Manager in project management and related activities. The Analyst will be part of the Fashion for Good Innovation Platform team.

Key responsibilities of the Analyst include the following:

Scouting and evaluating start-ups
  • Scout, screen and evaluate raw materials start-ups / innovators based on Fashion for Good’s established due diligence framework as part of the evaluation process for the Innovation Programme

Supporting Innovation Team and raw materials projects

  • Assist Fashion for Good’s Innovation Manager in the creation of the deliverables outlined in the innovator’s roadmap to scale (i.e. technical feasibility, life cycle assessment, financial analysis: return on investments, impact analysis, project management, etc.)
  • Develop and update the raw materials innovation landscape
  • Support projects and pilots that the raw materials innovators are involved in including some project and stakeholder management
  • Deep dive into and understand the technologies of all innovators in the raw materials landscape

About you

The ideal candidate combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, proactive attitude. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Strong knowledge of material science
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • A basic understanding of the supply chain & the fashion industry
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Capacity to work in a demanding and multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A pro-active, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and comfortable dealing with uncertainty
  • Proficiency in English is required

The Analyst role requires a total maximum work experience of 1-3 years. Work experience in the following areas is a plus: research and development, management consulting, sustainability, the apparel industry or a relevant entrepreneurial / start-up setting.

EDUCATION

Academic degree preferably within material science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, textile engineering or biotechnology. Please note that all our internships require that you are enrolled in tertiary study for the duration of the internship.
