As a Barista and Café FOH Team Member, you'll play a vital role in crafting exquisite beverages, offering excellent customer service, and contributing to the smooth operation of our café.
Your Role:
As a member of our team, you'll:
- Create Memorable Moments: Engage with customers, understand their preferences, and recommend beverages and menu items that cater to their tastes and needs, creating an exceptional experience from the moment they step in.
- Craft Delicious Creations: Utilise your expertise to expertly prepare and serve a range of coffee-based beverages, ensuring each cup is crafted to perfection and consistent in taste and presentation.
- Operate with Precision: Master the use of coffee brewing equipment and espresso machines, keeping everything clean and well-maintained to uphold quality standards.
- Handle Transactions: Handle cash transactions efficiently and accurately, ensuring a seamless process at the point of sale while maintaining a balanced cash drawer throughout your shift.
- Maintain a Welcoming Space: Keep the café environment clean, organised, and inviting, complying with health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of our customers.
- Stock and Replenish: Play a part in keeping the café running smoothly by restocking supplies, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other essentials.
- Assist in Food Preparation: Collaborate with the team in preparing and presenting food items, following recipes and safety guidelines for items like pastries, acai bowls, and more.
- Team Coordination: Work closely with fellow baristas, kitchen staff, and team members to ensure orders are fulfilled promptly, guaranteeing a smooth flow of both beverages and food items.
Your Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a barista or café FOH team member.
- Skills: Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining quality, and familiarity with coffee brewing equipment and espresso machines.
- Knowledge: Passion for coffee, including different brewing techniques and coffee origins, as well as an understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
