S&P - Cost Engineer - Linkou [Taiwan]


 

Introduction to the job

As a Cost engineer, you will play a critical role in providing insight and driving down the costs of parts and complex modules by simulating production processes. You will also provide early definition of manufacturing process flows and product cost calculations during the design phase in collaboration with the development and sourcing competences.

Role and responsibilities

Serve as the go to expert for mechanical manufacturing and product costing.

Provide adequate transparency in product costing for both technical costs and business uplifts.
Provide optimal manufacturing strategies, including product costing, for high-end precision parts and complex modules, taking into consideration the effects of both serial and volume production.
Identify potential cost savings by driving supplier idea proposals.
Review and assess supplier proposals by providing cost analysis and cost down opportunities.
Participates Cost of Goods workshops both with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Collaborate with the project teams to ensure that cost estimates align with the project scope and schedule.
Participate in supplier account teams.

Education and experience

Bachelor degree in an mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience with advance manufacturing processes like CNC Milling, CNC Turning, (Laser, E-Beam) welding, additive (3D printing) manufacturing, precision mechanics vacuum, manufacturing automation / robotization, industrial 4.0 (operation data analyses).
Knowledge of manufacturability of raw material manufacturing like stainless steel, titanium, casting, extrusion, high end plastics, vendor components market pricing and availability etc.
Experience in reporting cost driver views, opportunities and risks.
Understand both supplier, supply chain manufacturing capabilities and preferable their financial value streams.
Experience in working in design teams, supplier account teams and with supplier collaboration.
Direct manufacturing engineering experience in operations.

Strong negotiation skills during interactions with suppliers and other ASML sectors.
Ability to initiate, influence and steer without formal authority.
Proactive member of design and supplier account teams.
