Credentialing Coordinator Remote [United States]


 

OVERVIEW: Coordinates, administers and quality controls all aspects of the credentialing and privileging process for physicians and professional staff providers. Enters and maintains specialized applicant information into the centralized credential software application and coordinates the credentialing process for all respective entities. Ensures the credentialing process complies with organizational Medical Bylaws as well as accrediting agency, Federal, and State regulatory standards.

HOURS: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm EST

SCOPE: This non-exempt, remote position which reports to the Credentialing Supervisor.

I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following, other duties may be assigned to meet business needs:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and continued monitoring of CAQH profiles and the credentialing system.
  • Coordinates the management of the expirables process to ensure all clinical provider licenses and certificates remain current.
  • Assists physicians with updates and renewal of state licensure and DEA.
  • Responsible for assisting established USF physicians with initial hospital appointment applications.
  • Assists in completion of reappointment applications for all USF physicians in all regions including check requests for hospital dues.
  • Maintain credentials and hospital appointment records using credentialing system.
  • Credentials all residents and fellows prior to their upcoming rotations with USF using credentialling system.

II. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a minimum of an Associate degree.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with individuals at all levels both within and outside of the organization.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in accuracy, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Additional required skills include strong data entry, organization, and problem-solving skills.

III. ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE: (not required but beneficial)

  • 1 year of credentialing and privileging experience.
  • Experience with CAQH Pro.
  • Knowledge of AAAHC, TJC, and NCQA accreditation.
