The Weizmann Institute of Science seeks an exceptional writer to join the Department of Resource Development. The primary function of the science writer is to draft and edit donor communication materials in English, reflecting the research activities of Weizmann scientists and the funding needs of the Institute
:This includes, but is not limited to
Writing and editing proposals, letters, magazine articles, and scientific reports for Weizmann donors worldwide, as well as marketing materials for the Institute’s international friends’ associations •
Interviewing scientists for the purpose of preparing reports, proposals, and articles for both print and digital formats •
Composing and reviewing texts for donor-related events •
Proofreading and fact-checking the above-listed materials •
- Bachelor’s degree – a must (major in journalism, communications, English literature, or a scientific field is preferred, but not mandatory)
- At least 5 years of professional writing experience (i.e., proposal or grant writing, scientific content, donor communications, journalism, marketing)
- Native level English – required; Hebrew – advantage
- General understanding of fundraising, stewardship, and donor sensitivities
